Normally we'd be reaching out about sign-up right now, but given the uncertainty around COVID-19, we aren't sure what the summer will hold. We are working with Life Saving Victoria to consider options and we're hopeful that as restrictions ease, we'll be able to welcome you to the beach. Still, we're not in a position to confirm anything just yet.

How to Join or Renew
Step 1. Complete the Nipper Registration Form
Fill out the Nipper Registration Form for each participant. If you're joining as an individual or a family with no nippers to sign up, skip to Step 2.
Step 2. Register or Renew with Surf Life Saving Australia
If you are new, or it's been a few years, start by creating an account with Surf Life Saving Australia. Choose the first option (Surf Life Saving Club) and follow the steps to select Hampton and My Family, then register each family member age 5+. Any members under age 15 require family memberships that include at least one adult member.
For renewals, simply sign into your account and select "My Family" to renew everyone in your family group. Make sure contact information is up to date.

Step 3. Pay Membership Fees for Your Family and Each Nipper
Go to the SLSA payment page. Sign up for the regular family membership, plus a nipper membership for each participating nipper. (Membership fees will appear below when determined for 2020-2021.)
PLEASE NOTE: When paying, add a description for each line that will help our volunteers understand your payment and recognize your participants, such as "Smith Family, 2 nippers, Eva and Max"
Once your payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email, HLSC will be notified and we will reach out to you.
Step 4. Get or Update Your Working with Children Check
All members 18+ must hold a valid WWCC card, even if you are a member of traditionally exempt group such as police officers and teachers (see LSV policy on exempt groups here, section 6.2.2).
Visit the Victoria WWCC site to get a card, renew an expiring card, or to add Hampton Life Saving Club and Life Saving Victoria to your account.
You'll need these addresses to add HLSC and LSV to your MyCheck account:

If you're a returning member and your card is still valid, you don't need to do anything.
Step 5. Email Proof of Age and WWCC
Please email proof of age for each new nipper as well as a copy of WWCC cards for any adults to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 6. Join or Update Team App
Critical communications (such as last-minute weather-related cancellations) and schedules are sent via Team App, and you'll be able to order and pay for your required high-vis rashies here. Download the app or create an account online (or do both!) Add yourself to all relevant access groups, such as your children's Nipper groups, the Nipper parent group, patrols, etc. Make sure notifications are turned on.
