YIPS Welcome to Hampton’s Youth Program. Our program is based on Life Saving Victoria’s Youth Involvement Program (YIP). This will be the fourth season that Hampton has used the program. The program is open to all club members between 13 and 17 years old. Before you can be involved, you must hold either a Surf Rescue Certificate or a Bronze Medallion. Training for these awards commences in November so keep an eye on the training page for details. To access an outline of the new YIPs 'Pathways Program' click HERE. We plan to have regular get togethers down at the club with a mix of life saving, leadership and social activities. Group paddles have proved very popular previous years. We also hope to have some club sleep overs, both at Hampton and at a surf club. Our YIPs learn new skills, make new friends, and earn valuable points which can be used to claim some great rewards. The point's system may sound a little confusing at first, but once it is explained it is easy to understand. By doing things around the club YIPs will earn points. There are three levels of achievement which earn different rewards. To reach a level of achievement you must achieve enough points across various areas of Club involvement and you must have completed a minimum number of patrol hours. At the moment, there are three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. To enrol in the YIPs Pathways Program for 2012-2013, please download the registration form and either email it to or pass to Helen when you see her at the club.
