Competition

Hampton Life Saving Club participates in Inter-club Carnivals run by Life Saving Victoria throughout the summer season. Hampton also participates in the winter season pool carnival series.

Last year, nearly 80 Hampton Nippers participated in one or more Carnivals and enjoyed the camaraderie of being part of Hampton’s ‘Carnival Crew’ as well as the pride of doing their best in a variety of beach and water events.

The Carnival events mirror the activities Nippers participate in at Club level. They include:

• Wade Race (running in up to knee depth water)
• Surf Race (open water swimming)
• Board Race
• Iron Nipper (swim, board, run)
• Beach Sprint
• Flags

As well as individual events, there are a number of team events, including:

• Wade Relay
• Surf Teams
• Board Relay
• Aqua Cameron Relay (wade, swimming, board and running)
• Beach Relay

Hampton prides itself on encouraging Nippers to have fun at the Carnivals and ‘give everything a go’.  But we are also very proud of the success our children have had at Carnivals, especially the 2011 State Titles where our competitors won a number of individual and team medals. Go Hampton!
